About Me

Hi, I’m Jody Webster and this is my blog. I’m a 32-year-old graphic and web designer living in Murfreesboro, TN.

I grew up in front of a computer, learning to program in BASIC with my dad and trying get a bunch of disease-prone pioneers to Oregon. As a teenager, I got my first taste of graphic design working on my high school year book and writing for the local newspaper. I built a few websites for myself back then, but I never thought about pursuing website design as a career. Over the years though, I continued building up my design skills until one day I decided to go for it and start my own business. Now I build webpages for clients through my two sites  Websterville Design. I’m completely self-taught and I love learning how to work with webpages. I’ve found a way to pay the bills while doing something I love and it’s great.

I’m married to a particularly amazing woman, Alanna, who has put up with me since my senior year in high school. We’ve got five great kids, Ben, Taylor, Elyse, Gracyn, Brynna. I’ve officially become a dad with a minivan, but I like to think I drive it around with a little more style and swagger than your average guy. I love spending time with my family, reading and writing, spending time outdoors hiking or riding my bike, and playing around with whatever cool new gadget I can get my hands on.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Hey Jody! I found your post “Odd Man Out: God Bless the Weirdos” while googling church groups for outcasts freaks geeks and weirdos… I loved it. I’m in school for graphic design so when I read your bio I thought, well, now I have to comment. It’s a sign. 😛 I recently started going to church after a 20 year break… And while I’ve always been a bit peculiar (understatement) now I’m finding that even among my wonderfully strange friends and family, being a Christian is making me another kind of weirdo! The church has been really good to me, but I can’t help but to feel like an outcast there too, because I’m a late bloomer, because I’m a liberal, because I am all kinds of different. So I kind of want to say, hey, let’s see those freak flags and support eachother… I wonder who would come out of the woodwork. Anyway… Love your blog, thanks for writing.
